The exam pattern has been changed wherein instead of 3 Papers in the UGC NET 2018 exam, the aspirants now shall have to appear for only two sets namely, Paper-1 & Paper-2 in this years’ test. All set to be scheduled on July 8, 2018 (Sunday), candidates can check start filling the UGC NET 2018 online application forms by March first week onwards. The Paper-1 shall comprise of 50 questions carrying two marks each to be completed in one hour duration while Paper-2 shall have 100 questions carrying a total of 200 marks to be attempted in 2 hours time duration.

The new eligibility conditions pertaining to the upper age limit of the applicants seeking JRF via UGC NET 2018 exam has been revised too. The previously set benchmark at 28 years for the candidates who applied for the CBSE UGC NET exam has now been raised by two years by the education board, details of which are available in the short notification online. The applicants are now being benefited as the new cut-off for upper age limit for the candidates applying online for the National Eligibility Test is now set at 30 years. Therefore, more candidates can now be accommodated and considered for the UGC NET 2018 exam this year than previous years’ by virtue of the changed induced in the system.

UGC NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY TEST (NET) SHORT NOTIFICATION

It is notified that CBSE will conduct the next UGC-NET for Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor on 08^th July, 2018 (Sunday). As per the revised scheme, the test will consist of two papers as below:.

I	100	50 questions. All are compulsory	1 Hour (09:30 AM to 10:30 AM) IST
II	200	100 questions. All are compulsory	2 Hours (11:00 AM to 1:00 PM) IST

Paper-I shall consist of 50 objective type compulsory questions each carrying 2 marks. The questions which will be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.

Paper-II shall consist of 100 objective type compulsory questions each carrying 2 marks which will be based on the subject selected by the candidate.

The upper age limit for appearing in JRF has also been raised by two years, i.e. from the existing upper age limit of 28 years to 30 years (the relaxation as earlier will remain same). The candidates who desire to appear in the test may see the detailed notification available on the website http://cbsenet.nic.in from 01^st February, 2018. The candidates are required to apply online from 06^th March, 2018. The last date for applying online is 05^th April, 2018 and fee can be paid up to 06^th April, 2018.
